Carver Haines grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He moved to Corvallis, Oregon for college and is currently attending Oregon State University with a major in Animal Sciences and concentrations in Equine Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine as well as a minor in Chemistry. He started working with horses when he was 5 years old, begining in Hunter-Jumpers and dressage then moved to Eventing. He has over 15 years experience with horses with 10 of those years riding and showing in Hunter-Jumpers up to 4’0” and 2nd level Dressage. He also has just over six years competitive Eventing experience through Training level and 2 years of vaulting experience. For the past 5 years, Carver has been breaking and training young and green horses. He loves to train and compete on thoroughbreds and sport horses, and also enjoys taking the occasional pony out for a ride or jump.
Carver has competed in both schooling and rated shows all over New Mexico, Arizona, California, Texas, and Oregon. He has qualified himself and several horses for the American Eventing Championships in Kentucky. He also successfully competed at regionals qualified for nationals in vaulting. He plans on continuing with his riding career and following his passion for Three-Day-Eventing to the upper levels.
Carver is constantly striving for excellence. He’s always continuing his education by reading books and articles, going to clinics, taking lessons, and learning what each horse has to teach him. He loves teaching people and his care and commitment to both horse and student shines through as he helps them unlock the magical bond between a horse and its rider.
